I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (chronic wide spread pain) in 2003 at age 30. My symptoms first started when I was 26. This was about one year after marrying my high school sweetheart and while I was working as a security manager. I managed to cope with my symptoms for a long time determined to keep working however to do so I also sacrificed my personal life, my home life and nearly my marriage.
Note that Fibromyalgia has been a recognized condition by the American Rheumatology Association since 1990 but with no identifiable cause or cure.
In 2001, my family physician prescribed me a medical leave of absence for an indeterminate period of time. However, at this time we were no closer to understanding my various symptoms. I followed my doctors every recommendation, be it medical tests and examinations or forms of treatment.
Not only was there no improvement to my health but my quality of living kept diminishing to the point that I was recognized as having ‘long-term disability’ the polite way of saying a handicap and permitted the use of a service dog. Between 2001 and 2003 I had also been diagnosed with chronic fatigue, myofacial pain syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome and depression. According to the rheumatologist who gave me my diagnosis of severe fybromyalgia, the only recommendations were to sell my home in the country and adapt my life to accommodate a wheelchair within the next 3 to 6 months as there is no known cure for this illness. We chose to sacrifice our beautiful two-story home and moved into a condo in the city but always with the intention that it was the best way to improve my health.
In 2004, I started to consult someone in Total Biology, referred to me by someone I trusted and who knew that I was determined to get better and had tried every other method of treatment and combination of therapy available. I felt desperate and utterly helpless. I remember thinking, that I was willing to do any thing to regain my health; I was open to any thing at this point as long as I could see some real results.
In my case, these results did come relatively quickly. The person I worked with was very clear and consistent in the explanation of the concept of Total Biology. That this is a concept developed by Claude Sabbah and an evolution from Ryke Hamer’s earlier work. Even the fact that Hamer’s medical license had been revoked and sentenced jail time for malpractice was also reveled to me. Nonetheless, I chose to continue my sessions. Although I doubted that Total Biology would be the solution for me after so many other approaches had failed, I never gave up that I could indeed heal.
These sessions were mostly informative and supportive and I was free to make my own conclusions. With each progressive step I took, in my journey of understanding the fundamental relationship between my body, my emotional state and my mental state and how I got to that point in my life, my body did go through a period of increased pain but after resting (which really was deep sleep something I hadn’t been able to do due to the FM) I discovered that my body was more and more functional. My body healed itself more quickly than I could emotionally and mentally comprehend. It actually took me longer to regain trust in how good my body felt. Thankfully, I do have a patient and loving husband. In 2005, I am happy to say I returned to the workforce.
In 2006, we built a new home in the country which is even more incredible than our first home because we built it together with our own two hands!
I have been fibromyalgia free as well as all the previously listed conditions, since 2004, as confirmed by my doctors.
If it weren’t for the knowledge I gained through the concept of Total Biology I don’t think I would still be alive today. I am eternally grateful for the knowledge that Claude Sabbah has been sharing with people and also for those who have picked up his torch to spread this concept in its integrity. Knowledge is power and it can be used for good or bad.
Sincerely,
Nicole Grace Valenti
